How to Create NFTs in Minecraft

NFTs are a great way to customize your Minecraft experience. They can be used to change how your world looks, give new properties to some part of your world, or replace your character entirely! This guide will help you get started with making your own NFT from your Craft book.

In Minecraft, you are given the ability to create your very own NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), unique collectibles that are completely unique to you and make you the envy of your friends. The following is a step by step procedure you will in creating your Minecraft NFT.

1. Setup

  • Install Minecraft

  • Fire up Minecraft

  • Install World Edit

  • Choose the bounds of the structure you'd like to duplicate after you've installed world edit and fired up Minecraft

  • Transform them into blueprints that you can download and paste into your own world. You need to use world edit to draw the build's limits.

  • Now, run starting from the bottom left corner of your structure when copying.

Note: Keep in mind your player's position when you copy the build, for example, if you are standing on the roof, the build will be posted in such a way that you'll be standing on the roof when you paste it.

2. Check the Sanity

  • By putting what you just copied somewhere else in your universe, you can see if your build is working.

  • Run the command to paste the build in the desired location. You could for example paste a townhome on a coral reef habitat a response indicating that the clipboard has been pasted should also appear.

Note: Make sure you do not fall victim to a con. By navigating to the privacy setting of each discord server, you may quickly switch off your disk or DMS.

3. Creating the schematics file

  • It's time to create the schematic file that will mint into an NFT once you are satisfied with the build you've just copied and pasted.

  • You achieve this by using the world edit command to save the schematic file to your local machine.

  • To do so run the command schematic. Save the file name replacing it with a new name.

  • The file will be saved to your Minecraft folder.

  • Now test your file by utilizing the schematic load file name to load the schematic you just saved. This copies the schematic to your clipboard allowing you to paste it anywhere in your environment

4. Minting and Upload the Schematic

  • Mint the schematics file you just made and place it on the blockchain using IPFS and Web3 storage.

  • To continue, locate the schema file you prepared in the previous phase. This file is in the Minecraft schematics folder in your Minecraft directory. Depending on your operating system, the location of your Minecraft folder varies.

Note: Please use the free web3.storage service that is designed to store off-chain data to upload the schematic on IPFS and Filecoin. Web3 storage provides free decentralized storage and bandwidth.

5. Interacting With the Contract

  • The account example nft.testnet has already received a contract that allows users to freely mint tokens.

  • To mint your NFTs, communicate with this account or you can also use a contract.

  • Please make sure that you follow the procedures precisely in order to avoid making any errors.

Closing Thoughts

The above are the five key steps in minting NFTs in Minecraft. However, it is important to take note of the following takeaways to avoid any mistakes or scams.

Note:

  • Watch out for fake minting sites on discord and twitter there are much too many of them.

  • You must exercise caution while selecting which ones to click on when you try to mint. On fake sites, your wallet security may be compromised and your funds may be wiped out.

  • Every genuine discord server has an official link channel which you must use even in the main chat. Do not put your trust in the links offered by others.

  • Always get links from the official twitter handle of a project's bio and examine the quantity of followers and relevant tweets to identify fake twitter accounts because scammers love copying influential accounts to earn your trust.
